Happy Halloween

It's Halloween time!!!!!   I wanted a spooky yet classy look to the house.  If you can have both.  :-)

BANISTER
  • Added the creepy cloth to the banister and put some flickering orange lights behind it.  Gives a spooky feel to the foyer.
MANTLE

  • I went into Michael's and they had one that included the flicker flame bulbs and it was on SALE!!!!!  SOLD.
  • I reused the creepy black cloth (from Dollar Tree last year) to drape on the mantle.
  • "Skeleton in a jar" a craft I saw on the Dollar Tree craft idea site.  - Used a jar from Garden Ridge and a skeleton and moss from Dollar Tree.  Pulled the skeleton apart and put it in the jar with the moss.
  • Plastic skulls, from Dollar Tree
  • Skull stand - Used a taper candle holder and a pilar candle holder (from Dollar Tree) and glued the pilar holder to the taper holder.
  • The crow is from Dollar Tree
  • The frame was one I had.  I have since added some spiders that are hanging in the frame.
  • Potion Bottles - Used old bottles I had from (Capers, Peanut Butter, Syrup and BBQ Sauce).  I found free printable lables , I also bought some oneline to have a variety.  I spray painted all of the lids matte black.  Then I used matte decoupage to cover 2 bottles 100% to give them an old look.
    • "Poison" - I used Citrucel (fiber drink cause it was orange)
    • "Witch Hazel" - Water
    • "Vampire Blood" - 25% water, 75% cooking oil and red food coloring
    • "Bone Dust" - sand from the beach
    • "Truth Serum" - water with purple food coloring
I don't have pictures, but I use the candles that I put up for Christmas in the windows for Halloween, but instead of white lights I put the flicker flame bulbs in.  Makes the outside very spooky!!!!
